Uganda is habitat to various primates among which are the endangered impressive Mountain Gorillas that live within the montane dense tropical rainforests of Bwindi Park and Magahinga.

Other than the mountain gorillas the country presents wonderful trekking opportunities of chimpanzees in Kibale forest, Kyambura River Gorge, Budong forest and Kasyoha-Kitomi forest.A tour to the Ngamba Island which is a chimp sanctuary in which chimps are habituated is such a rewarding and memorable experience.

Among the other primates found in Uganda are the red colobus monkey, Olive baboon, Grey-Cheeked Mangabeys, black & white monkeys, uncommon Golden Monkey and Blue & red-tailed monkeys. These are found in almost all the National Parks as well as the tropical rainforests in Uganda.
